benefit a Savior to man in sin enthralled?
What good the true Messiah t’ward whom the soul is called?
What asset is the Son of God with deity his essence?
What assurance in the cross and in his blessed presence?
‘Tis
sweet to know a Savior who died for sinful man.
‘Tis swell to understand his love which met God’s hard demand.
‘Tis sullen, though, to know the fear to meet God at his face.
‘Tis wonder why so few will hear of God’s amazing grace.
