In The Morning
9/11/2006 – For Funeral of Cora Wright

In the morning when the mists are gone
And we see as clear as day,
We’ll see our Lord who died for us
And took our sins away.
We’ll view the glorious city
He’s prepared for all his own.
We’ll meet together in his land,
A place we all call home.
All heartaches will be over,
With our loved ones we shall be;
But most of all we’ll all be glad
Our Savior’s face to see.
Gone are those who left us here,
Who went there on ahead
And left us on this aging earth
To wait for what He said:
A promise to each believer
Who by his grace believes
And who with patience runs the course
and serves Him e’re he leaves.
Wait along this longing shore
To cross the river there,
And take the steps to follow Him;
Take up your cross to bear.
For not much longer this old life
Will hang here in the wind,
But soon we’ll be with Jesus Christ,
Where all our sorrows end.
If you’re not saved and one of His,
Your life in shambles be;
Trust death, burial and resurrection:
His faith will set you free.
