There she stands in grandeur pause
Standing vigil o’er our laws,
Constant vigil from her face
Giving thought to God’s own grace.

Weathering storms have changed her form
Yet given hope to those forlorn,
Many souls in chains of fear
Have found their freedom ever near.

Though standing firm on solid ground,
Her form is changed by subtle sound:
The sound of change across the land
Has threatened here her solid stand.

Without the people’s constant mind
This mighty statue will not find
Courageous hearts to fight the foe;
The Lady grand will meet her woe.
