There Is A Place

There is a place of quiet rest, a place of love
divine,
A place where all the saints of God are beckoned "Come and dine."
There is a place of comfort sweet, a place there is no night.
There is a place where angels sing and saved souls take their flight.
There is a place where no sun shines, for Jesus
is the light,
A place of long forgotten stars and moon will have no might.
There is a place of no more death to shatter every dream,
A place where life will never end and peace will reign supreme.
Not everyone is going there, for sins must
first be cast
From sea to sea and far away as far as east from west.
No unbeliever sets his foot upon this golden shore,
And murderers and wicked men will tread the streets no more.
The beauty of this wondrous place is not in
what we see
As much as in the promise giv’n by God to you and me
Who trust in Christ our Lord and God, who seem to understand
That without faith in Jesus Christ we cannot trod that Land.
Heaven is the name of this the wondrous place
we know
And the hope of all who trust in Christ living here below.
Heaven, the reality that faces each new man
Thrills us when our days are old with nothing in our hand.
There is a place where people go who’s faith is
in the Lord,
Who turn from sin and follow Him and understand His word.
Come and see this glorious land prepared for those who will
With honest hearts believe in God. He saves the sinner still.
