To Our Family

By Ronnie Wolfe - December 12, 1995

Simple things are hidden among life's busy fairs,
And sometimes hard to find, they're lost among our cares.
So sometimes what we need is to pull the veil away
And take a look at simple things along our tiring way.

Our family is a simple thing we take for granted much
Assuming it will always be within our easy clutch;
But life is short and death is near to take our loved ones home.
Friends move out and go away, and we are left alone.

So while our hearts are lively and our emotions strong,
Let's take our time to love with joy our family and home.
Let's take time to speak and say a word of simple praise
Encouraging the old and young with warmth and love that stays.

God gave us family ties to give us strength along our way.
God is the reason that this love will always stay.
Thank God for a family so rich in family love.
Thank God that he has shed on us his blessings from above.

George and Dorothy came along to be our parents true.
Shirley and Georgia came along; they are the eldest two.
Mildred, Edith, John: two girls with just one boy.
When Susie and Elaine arrived, they were welcomed here with joy.

Sharon Marie would be the last to make this quiver full,
With all these children running 'round, one moment was not dull.
But Daddy George was taken along with Josie, too.
And that's the reason why we must keep our motives true.
